Oh, you little Achiever! You are quite the busy bee and an extraordinary Do-er! You have an amazingly high work ethic and you don’t stop until the job is done. Cranking out the work, you plough through rows and rows of items on your checklist until everything is complete. (If you miss something or don’t get to it you won’t sleep well, eh?)
Highly productive, you run circles around most people. You work at your job, you work when you get home, you work on the weekends, you work… on vacation! Accomplishing things and marking them all down on your checklists makes you happy!
Now, here’s the deal: it really is okay to lie on the beach or by the pool and do nothing. Consider that you are “doing” your relaxing and check it off your list once you’re done. This way, you can get a little rest and still consider yourself productive. You’re not a slacker!
And remember that those who are not high in Achiever are not slacking, either. Thinkers think and that’s their work. Nurturers slow down to take care of people, and that’s their work. And those noisy Promoters? Their job is to talk and network and make new connections. The rest of us achieve, but not in the same methodical, linear way that you do!
Managing Your Achiever Talent
To feel even more productive, consider working in jobs where you have an opportunity to work hard with lots of tasks. Make sure your productivity is measured and you can track it. Such an environment will make you feel alive and stretched! Since you don’t need a lot of motivation from your managers, take advantage of your own inner motivation by creating challenging objectives and aiming high. This will make you happy and fulfilled! Don’t expect everybody else to follow your lead unless they have Achiever, too! They are motivated by other things that bring them joy.
Thanks for all you DO! You are an extraordinary DO-ER!
