Develop Your Arranger Talent

In StrengthsFinder Themes, Talent Development by Rhonda Knight Boyle

The Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment identifies natural talent and ability. At last report, About 13% of people who take the assessment have Arranger in their Top 5 talent themes. If it’s in your Top 5, here are eight ways to develop your Arranger talent:

1. Find a Busy, Dynamic Environment

Your Arranger talent will be exercised best in an environment that is busy with lots of changing dynamics. You love the challenge of arranging and rearranging things to be more efficient.

2. Plan

In order to understand all of the pieces of your organization or workflow, spend time planning. You’ll want to have a primary plan and then work through any contingencies that may pop up as a disruption.

3. Map it Out

Make sure you get your main plan and some of the secondary and tertiary plans mapped out on paper. In the event that things get crazy, you’ll have it written and available to make changes as you need to.

4. Team Buy In

Share your plans with your team in advance and get their buy in. When things upset the normal routine, you’ll want them “at the ready” to shift to the contingency plan that makes the most sense in the moment. Advanced warning will equip and empower them to be flexible.

5. Explore New Systems

You’re all about efficiency and creating systems to make things function at peak performance. Make a point to explore new systems that could make your life easier.

6. Discover Your Best View

Do you see and arrange best when your boots are on the ground? Or when you’re up and looking “down” on the operation. Identify where you see best so you can arrange best when the time comes.

7. Debrief

Making notes and documenting your processes just after implementing some big system change will go a long way in preparing for your next big event. Preparing a recap or summarizing your experience while it’s fresh in your mind will help you identify what worked and what didn’t and what you might do differently.
